2days before my DT got here I found an OT MK1 same price

Is this a crazy loss? I mean should I make the effort to ship back the DT when I get it sealed or do I just go 6months to 1 year with it then keep looking for used OT? I know the differences between the two, I just don’t know how bad this situation is.

I find it hard to push myself to spend that much money on used equipment (for example a digitakt) but this OT was almost half of the MK2 price… What is my best course of action here while avoiding GAS?

How bad is what situation? Just buy it or don’t. Choices can be undone by selling down the road.

I have both and find unique uses for both of them. Perhaps some overlap, but I’m of the mind that you can never have too many dope samplers. You can make one a drum machine, and the other a synth by sampling sound waves and using Lfos to add some modulatuons.

I love the dt and only sometimes I like my ot. Ot is too big, too many functions, not as streamlined as dt, etc.
Actually, i only use my ot as a powermixer and looper.
Maybe they can be compared
Maybe they are different
Dt is good, not too complex and almost instant fun

i think if you wanted an OT you would have an OT in two days. enjoy your new gear!
