yes
no need to suggest, thatās already the situation and has been since the start.

I was thinking of using the M:C as well. I think the quicker of suggested devices.
Itās a piece of piss, thereās only 4 parameters to muck about with, so sound design doesnāt really take up any time at all.
I reckon I can get a fairly decent track out of it in 5 minutes if I practice a bit. Although I think practicing kinda defeats the object.
Itās definitely much easier for those with on-board synths, at least you start with something, but sounds fun - I have a plan of attack!
Pretty cool! Nice feel/groove and I really dig that bass.
I think the biggest challenge for me is to find a way to place/position the camera
Here is my attempt from yesterday night. I went through it in my head before, to have a plan how to get the sounds quickly.
Quite stressful way of making music
As soon as I started the timer I was completely nervous.
yes, real nice vibe tho @Unifono
hereās one done just now recorded on an iRig2 so mono/hissy/quiet, beefed it up a bit when rendering. (having a glitchy jog wheel and encoders only adds to the drama )
my critique is the hi hats get boring, couldāve put some more LFOs in play there on the drums, and had time to double up the pattern and add more variation instead of CTR-ALL messing. but āit is what it isā
very nice
Hey!
I have decided to try it again after my ridiculous first attempt. This time, there kind of is a beat? However, I can confirm: I would have much preferred to use a synth with an init patch than having to sample, check gain, slice, then only start laying down a sequence and doing sound design.
In short: fun idea, not so fun to do for me unfortunately. I love the āquick trackā idea to warm up or simply come up with cool music on the fly and keep yourself creative, but this challenge is not something I will ever do again I think haha.
Anyway, here is the second attempt, good luck to everyone who will do it!
ps: people who have posted awesome jams on this thread, you are incredible
what is this MC-202 style note entry mode youāre using? where it looks like you enter some notes then advance the sequencer a few steps, enter more, etcā¦
step recording.
Was introduced in updates. On DT, A4 (and I believe AR) as well
I love this style of sequencing. Just wish there was a tie option as well (maybe I missed it, but I think you can only do rests by using the right arrow)
oh sweet. completely missed it! it is a really fun way to enter notes, mainly because (for me at least) it often has unpredicted results.
iām updating the rules to include use of on board/imported single cycle waves for MS, DT, Rytm, OT and MD users (MnM already had this in truth with DigiProā¦) .
Youāre all right, using this approach puts you on a level playing field with Init patch synth users enabling the option to begin shaping a sound instantly, then you can sample any more sounds if you choose.
You still have to load and design from a blank kit blah blah.
Loving all the efforts so far, and looking forward to more.
Honestly, the ONLY time Iāve heard one and though it was cool
Nice job
Nice! I have no idea how you managed this in 5mins!
Itās really not that difficult with the M:C, plus this is basically how long I have to make all my tracks these days, Iām pretty well versed in smashing them out by now.
Iāll have to see if I can find a way to shoot an actual video (Iām not a smartphone person) but this was way more fun than I thought itād be. Yes, 5 mins is limited AF and Iām not saying I came with anything special but with something like the Machinedrumās ctrl-al it felt a bit like using a cheat code. Just laid some trigs at random, then started to mould the sounds also felt like I was a human random pattern generator, hah.
Kudos, @waftlord!
looks super immediate the cycles.
Might try one soonā¦
Itās great for just playing.
Proper little jam machine.
