With all the spectral resonator type stuff in the videos my guess would be it’s going to involve that somehow. It’d be kind of fun if there was a radio in it you could mangle with that. I think the 0-Tape is a good idea, but Strega gets into that area a bit with its delay and the way you control it.
I have been wishing for another offbeat semi-modular with lots of patching opportunities, so whatever this ends up being, I’m interested. If anyone has some good recommendations along those lines, let me know!
At the start of the Make Noise teaser thingy, Walker says hi three times (twice). I reckon this is giving us clues to the name of the new device (which I now think is a new module).
Now, I cannot, for the life of me, find the lilac hoodie Walker intro anywhere in Make Noise’s YT, but the other two are definitely the intros to the previous two videos. So, the titles of those videos in sequence goes lilac hoodie = dunno, black T-shirt = My Brother the Wind and white T-shirt = Stregambient.
So, if we take the first letter of each one, then the new device is called Make Noise ?MS
Anyone wanna help me find lilac hoodie??? One clue, they changed the background of the videos about a year ago so it can’t be older than that.
Edit: maybe lilac hoodie hasn’t appeared yet? Meaning a zero? Or we’ll get the next one soon?
The Retro One MK2 is semi-modular, described as being somewhat like a Mini-Moog with oscillators more like a Prophet. If that sounds interesting to you this is worth a look.
There is a video ( in English ) in with this article as well.
SynthAnatomy did a good job covering SFF this year, along with Les Sondiers. Without them, this show would have been largely ignored, unless you actually attended. A few other reports and videos from the show are in those product’s respective threads too.
I played the little video game, and level one is player A going forward through a Mario-style platform, and level two is player B going backward through a similar level. Which… days after playing it I realize is like sides A and B of a tape…
This set of cases and modules that lets you custom configure your own mixer matched to your specific needs, specifically to be set up and used with your synths.
There will be more detail on this at Superbooth with sales to follow a short time after that.
Not sure if anyone else has noticed yet, but the updated exhibitors list for SB now features Korg Berlin, pretty hype to see whatever they’ve been cooking up!
Nice to see footage from the show, finally. For me the highlight was the video about Aodyo, but it’s unfortunate that the new ‘Advanced Brass’ model wasn’t talked about or demonstrated.
That aside, good to hear the Omega is coming along nicely!
I reckon it’s a new set of sampling and either modeling or real analogue grooveboxes, something to replace the current Electribes (which I personally am not a fan of so I hope so).
