I noticed the Accent notes do no make much of a difference in volume when i turn the level knob up. I made sure the tracks volume was not up all the way of course. Anyone experience this?
Accent is by default like adding 32 to the note trig velocity. So it’s not something that affects the track volume.
Can it be your compressor settings perhaps?
Doesn’t seem to be the compressor. You can adjust that from 32 to 127 and still no diff. Its not a big deal, i will just use the Plocks, the Accent isn’t to useful I guess. Maybe a bug or something.
In the sound settings you can set the velocity to vol on or off. If it’s off accent will make no difference what so ever.
If you recorded a hihat track and the velocity on the individual note trigs are about 110 and upwards adding 32 to the velocity might not do much of a difference.
So to make accent more prominent you need to lower the note trig velocity values to say about 50 and raise the accent setting from 32 to 50. This will surely make the note trigs with accent stand out.
yeah, i dont like Accent is not really useable by default.
wished somewhere else, it would be awesome if we could assign other parameters to Accent. velocity being default.
comes from the fact an accented tr808 kick does not only change in velocity.
That worked like a charm. Such a time saver. You just turn down Vel in the TRIG section. I bring mine down to 30 then jack up the Accent level to 100+. I sent an LFO to the AMP Accent destination and the loop has a nice human feel about it. Feeling good for some tribal loops now.
you can do just that in the Velocity mod menu
Accent is considered as a change in velocity, so anything you map in the velocity mod menu will react to accent trigs as well
yay !
I was wondering about that. It seemed redundant to have an Accent mod, and Velocity mod, but figured out it was a good thing since just the trigs you have the Accent on will be modulated vs. using the Velocity that affects all trigs theoretically, depending on how your LFO is setup, shape, clock, etc. I maybe be more inclined to use the Velocity Dest going forward unless I need that LFO for something else.
Also shout out to Elektron for putting that micotiming\grid shifter thingy in there. Was able to shift my claps off the grid so easy, brilliant!!!
Ah yes, I see what you mean. If you already have different velocities, and then want to add accents, then the parameters assigned to velocity mod will react to the accents. I can see how one would like to keep the two separated, personally I like it this way but only because it keeps the workflow relatively straight forward.
