Acid, Techno / A4 processed by BOSS ME-50

Hi,

Here’s my new track I made with Analog four being processed with a multiFX pedal BOSS ME-50.
Kick, Bass reese, bells, guitar like melody and other lower end percussion is from A4.

I will appreciate any feedback and tips.
Thanks.

damn good

thats nice to hear! thanks

That sounds great! Where’d you get those vocals? I need some to play around with in my tracks

They were recorded specially for this track (by conifer)

Love these click-y gritty sounds at the start of the track. Would probably be great as just an instrumental, but then, the vocal comes in and compliments the track so well. Well, can’t even say it “compliments” the track, because after it’s been going for a few seconds it’s clearly an integral part of the track, not something layered on top like a random remix or something. Perfectly dark and restrained vocal, whisper-y almost. Great recording and effects on the vocal, btw. That low hovering pad progression in the background provides a fantastic and subtle engine for everything, tying it all together. Such a confident and masterful feel to the production and composition and arrangement! Very impressed!

@Bwax , you do not get such reviews often, amazing thanks.

What do you guys think about the mastering? Could this be considered as a fully finished track, ready for release?

Certainly sounds finished to me, but I’m no mastering expert, that’s for sure. Seems loud enough at least, but that’s just one aspect. I didn’t feel it was quiet or lacking in any way compared to other tracks I listened to yesterday (I listen to music all day at work, a wide variety of styles and services - iTunes, SoundCloud, Spotify, YouTube, etc.). I’d say if you are happy with it compared to a few of your favorite reference tracks from artists you respect, then it’s ready.

What’s your mastering process? (if you care to delve further. if it’s a “secret recipe”, no worries. :relaxed: )

Love the vocals, and that secondary bass line that comes in at :45 under the 303 ties it all together. Sounds good to me man. Keep it coming.

Wow i totaly forgot about this thread i’ve opened

Well, I’ve been messing around with mixing and mastering for quite a while now, and can say that its not about the recipe, its those litle adjustments that are different on every track. Also i think the mix matters the most, sometimes you only need a limiter on your master when the mix is nice.
