Has anyone noticed that the left and right outs are noisy? Kind of sounds like cell phone interference Perhaps it is related to what it is plugged into. The headphone out has it but at a much lower volume.
Is a cell phone plugged into ? 
Unplug things, turn of cell phones to test what can be the source.
Bad electrical installation ?

You were absolutely correct it was the power source the machine was connected to. Now silence:)
