I am exploring the heat. Still currently within the return period, so I want to explore all sides of it.
I’ve played around with it a bit and loves what it does to the DN and the DT individually and at the end of their chain.
Now I wanted to check out how it works with VSTs. I am currently experimenting, and I wondered what the dropdown menu with L/R, M/S, mid and side does? Can’t find anything about it in the manual unfortunately.
Also, when I fire up the heat I see firmware 1.21D, while 1.21C is the last one listed on the Elektron site? Confused me a bit.
6.4.2 M/S MODE
The Overbridge plugin gives you the possibility to use the Analog Heat in M/S mode. This mode lets you treat the mid and side signals separately when you process audio. The Mid/Side audio content is generated from the audio from the Left/Right inputs.
• Mid consists of the sum of Left and Right. (Mid = Right + Left.)
• Side consists of difference between Left and Right. (Side = Right - Left.)
So you have a firmware from the future (does it have songmode ?! ). That is interesting, mind to share a photo with the version number displayed?
Hi, I also have an AH MK2 with firmware 1.21D and was confused when I saw the latest on Elektron’s site is 1.21C.
I’m considering downgrading though, because I’ve been having an occasional issue where the audio output of the AH suddenly stops. It will show input, but then no output. If I turn it off and back on, it fixes the issue. I saw others have had similar issues but usually when using it with Overbridge, which I am not (although technically I have it plugged into USB).
I’m also within my return period and considering returning if I can’t figure out some of this glitchiness.
This happens sometimes with all elektron devices. New units will ship from the production line with an unreleased OS that has a few tiny fixes since the last version you can download.
