I have an AR MKI with a message of need to calibrate when the machine boots. After 5 hour I made a calibration and get the fail message attached at the picture (the result shows 3 errors, both per filter 8 and one for Drum CAL 3) but the machine works fine!. The message began when the AR was updated to OS 1.50A. Yesterday I made the calibration 5 times with the same result, and after I did a Factory Reset, but the message of need to calibration when I turn on the machine becomes again and again… Any with similar experience?
Create a support ticket at Elektron.se (you’ll need an account there) - they’ll advise you best on what this means. PS aim to do a calibration once the device has been on for an hour or two - but that won’t explain your message.
Check out the test Mode in the manual and see if that reports anything of note, you’d need it for the support ticket anyway
See if filter resonance sounds different on (presumably) voice 8 (i.e track 11/12) - use a sample only sound on each track to compare
Hello, did you resolve the problem (testing error on audio 8, calibration error on filter res 8)? I have the exact same issue. The voice with problems seems to be the CP4 (clap) - it has a squealing resonance at 10-15kHz unless I turn cutoff below 100 (on LP filter).
My problem was not solved: they solution from the support team in elektron was to change the main board and it was not worth investing money in solving this issue. So I ended up selling my AR mkI and bought a Digitakt, which doesn’t need to calibrate voices and is just as practical for my compositions. I hope you can solve your problem in a simpler way. Greetings.
I have an Analog four MK1 and voice 2 has developed an issue with the second filter resonance, the resonance has to be turned up by about 10% to get any sound from it and then it behaves normally. I contacted Elektron last year and they said they might be able to fix it but worst case it would be a new board for £500+ so I’ve just learned to live with it. I took it to bits to have a look and the components are tiny and definitely not user serviceable without special gear imo.
The most annoying aspect is that the calibration won’t go past the fail, there should be a continue option.
Thank you for the speedy reply David! Do you perhaps have the serial number or a photo of your ex AR? Did you sell it to a guy in Portugal? I’d like to check if it ended up in my possession I mean having exact same exotic problem is improbable …
