Any Guesses for what the Third Model will be?

Model Samples
Model Cycles

Analogue Model perhaps?

I would wonder if there comes a third model type instrument in the near future.

Monomachine - Machinedrum
Analog Four - Analog Rytm
Digitone - Digitakt
Model:Cycles - Model:Samples

My bet the next things could be an fx processor / looper with plockable fx, with 2 stereo ins. Something like the OT, but simpler.

I’m a big fan of the Model models, but I doubt there’ll be another one soon. There’s one for samples and one for synthesis, and both can do rythym and melody. All bases are covered (in the general sense). I’d say Elektron will move on to other things now, until they circle back to Models MKIIs in about 5 years.

I would buy a model:looper as soon as it was released…6 OT like tracks with little menu diving…

I’m hoping we see something bigger in the near future, wether or not that’s a digi or analog style.

As far as the model series, the hype leading up to the recent release really showed how much people want a MD and MnM in some form…maybe that’s where they go next?

Would have to be a VA probably as this looks like a single-pcb design which won’t have room for six tracks of analogue circuitry.

It s already (been) here:

AH > Analog Drive
DT > MS
DN > MC

Maybe some sort of mad Elektron monosynth for bass etc. Dark trinity was sampler+drums+synth so I can certainly see a ghetto trinity for the people new to try a catch em all. Imagine a knob per function one track A4. One track would be weird for Elektron so who knows but it’d be their first mono synth too. Possibly analog modelling on a model:

Model: Track

Model:Super

It won’t turn on at all unless you input Jeff Bezos’s phone number into the sequencer keypad.

…leaked online 24 hours or so prior to official announcement?

I think it will be based on whatever the next Digi model will be.

My guess is something more tone oriented. Samples and cycles are rhythm focused for the most part. A 6 voice limited poly or mono would be my next guess.

I think the trouble with the model line focused on melodic synth is they are limited to the current knob set up it seems, so a full adsr would be out the window, you would have a resonance, filter, attack envelope, a waveform knob and boom you are out of parameter knobs that aren’t already used up. So it really would need to be another machines based synth box I would think. I dunno maybe a Model:Sid would make sense for some C64 goodness.

an OctaNOT

Another thought, not just for the models, but for the Digi series, is to break out more boxes from the Monomachine. One of the Monomachine Engines was the FM+, so the Digitone, and now M:C could be seen as expanded on that idea. Some other machines in the Monomachine that might work would be the Superwave, Digipro, or Sid.

A cheaper knob per function single track OT would actually be a rad instrument/multi effect

Yeaaahhh

Something that can take line ins (or usb audio) from the other models, loop and add a few effects. That’d be nice :+1:

The model line is currently branded along the lines of grooveboxes, so it doesn’t seem likely they’d go with something as restricted as a monosynth, but a unit that ties the current units together would be appealing.

Pared-back OT with an added analog circuit for a bit of gain/distortion would be dreamy too

Yeah man the OT is a bit of a funky mixer with automated FX itself. a stripped down version makes sense. I think if they ever did make a monosynth it’d have some weird twist, you’re probably right though. I was mostly thinking in terms of what’s missing from the lineup.
