AR mk2 Rattling Inside

Hey all - anyone else heard a rattle/resonating noise coming from the case of their AR mk2 when tapping the pads or casing? I guess it’s clearly something loose, but I’ve never noticed it before now and it’s never left my studio desk, so hasn’t been subject to virtually any movement since I bought it new.

It’s not coming from my desk or the cabling as have unhooked it all and lifted the Rytm from my desk to check.

Cheers

I think it might be one of the connectors at the back as the rattling is more pronounced towards the rear of the unit.

In my other Elektron boxes, there are ferrit rings around some cable connectors which go from PSU to MB and Output Board. I’m pretty shure it’s just that.

Thanks man, I’m gonna take a look under the hood.

Know your gear

Yeah, you want your gear to make people’s rears shake but you don’t want something shaking in the rear of the gear…

That rear is all tightened up now…

So problem solved?

Yes thanks, it seems to be, I actually just turned it upside down and shook it a bit whilst trying to figure out the exact position of the rattling and when I put it back on my desk the rattling had stopped. I think the threat of pulling its skin off, scared Rytm into behaving itself…?
