Balanced/unbalanced cables with Elektron gears

Hi,

I’m interested in the following use cases.

  1. A4/AK have balanced outputs. Can it cause any damage to the machine using unbalanced (mono) cables to connect the synths to an other device that has unbalanced input?
  2. Octatrack has unbalanced inputs. What if TRS (stereo) cables are plugged into them? Can it break the machine?

Though these cross-cabling could break older devices before as far as I know, the answer is “no” for both questions, I guess. However I’d like to read more accurate answers from people who are more competent in this area than me and have time to kindly share their knowledge with me (and others) :slight_smile:

That’s what the search is for, please browse the other (many) threads and develop those if your answers are not already covered - making yet more threads will merely make it harder to find the good info :thup:
