I tend to use the Flex samples for drum kits - individual hits and stuff like that. I use the Static samples for longer loops. I also tend to work on 30 songs at a time - so ideas that fail in one song might end up being used to salvage a different song.
I want to use the “purge samples” option, but just purge static samples. I don’t have all my drum hits assigned to tracks, I pick and choose what kicks and hats I need as I go - I want that pool to stay as is.
Is there any workaround for this?
Is there even a way to see in the audio pool which samples are in use? I can’t see any indication.
The only thing I can think of is to create an 8 bar track and assign each flex sample to each step, so that they are technically “in use”.
I should have been more specific. It does remove them from your 128 Static sample slots, which I have run out of in my project.
So purging samples will give me some room to add more Static samples.
I understand that it won’t delete them from the global audio pool.
Sadly, you can’t just purge Flex, or Static. So I did have to make a stupid patter that included all my Flex samples I want to use in the project for drums, and then purged, which freed up some Static slots.
Hi. PURGE SAMPLES doesn’t work for the first 8 slots of FLEX and STATIC slots, even if you choose à different track default sample, in slot 9 for example. Of course it doesn’t work for Recordings slots either.
Maybe I missed something, otherwise I hope it helps.
