Working on percussive sounds with the Micromac. These were loaded into and sequenced from the Octatrack. Some enveloping and compression were applied from the Octatrack as well. Final assembly was done in Ableton Live.
A bit of Rhodes was added for interest… everything else here originates with the Micromac.
Not done much percussive stuff with my Mac yet, but it’s certainly got the capability as you’ve shown here. The bottom end is just ridiculous on the Macbeth, but there’s also plenty of high-end fizz -much brighter than my Voyager was - so it should be ideal for all sorts of percussion…
Someone was asking me about some harder, snappier examples of Micromac percussion… here are a few perc loops created with the Micromac samples that show a bit harder sound. It’s very capable of percussive sounds yet I wouldn’t say it’s easy to get ultra snappy percussion out of the Micromac. Then again, you could use CV to get snappier I s’pose.
The samples were loaded into and sequenced from the Octatrack. There’s some Octa compressor and some ambient reverb from Altiverb applied.
