Boileroom Machines (Live Now)

Been pretty experimental so far, but things are heating up. Henning Baer on The Octatrack too :loud_sound::+1:

This is great, I just caught the tail end of LADA and the other 2, now the next group. I used to do an event with this same concept several artists improvising and being mixed by a central console.

Cool, was it hard work?! Also did much prep go into it? The first one really got going toward the end, this second one sounding good already too :loud_sound::+1:

Yeah I’m enjoying this second set as well.

Not a lot of prep, we’d put out a call for artists before each one, the requirements were to arrive ready to midi sync and with a stereo or mono out to the console. Eventually it settled in to the same group roughly. The set ups varied wildly from full hardware set ups to just a laptop and controller, each performer was given a frequency range for a time then we’d all slowly sort of shift around, so the person covering the low end would move to the mid range, the person doing most of the percussion and mid range stuff might move to melodies. it was fun and got really weird but mostly stayed fun and enjoyable to listen to

Didn’t realise Venetian Snares is up last, that’ll be mental!
