I am looking at picking up a sub phatty that will be sequenced by the digitak.
My question is if I hit live record on the digitone and then play the sub phatty… will it record the midi on the digitakt and record the sequence?
I don’t have a Digitakt but did that with an Octatrack and Bass Station II. I have connected the midi out of the Synth to the midi in of the OT and the midi out of the
OT to the midi in of the Synth. When I press live rec and play on the Synth keyboard, the OT records the incoming midi signals and sends it back to the Synth.

Don’t have the Digitakt, but it’s midi recording should work like on the OT … so the answer is yes.
There is one restriction though … the Elektron sequencers are step sequencer and when we play live, it may happen that we play two notes in the time range of a single sequencer step. This will kill the first of the two notes and replace it by the second. There might some practicing needed
