Can we get an ETA on solving the direct jump bug?

This is starting to annoy me, as it never worked as described. Happens fairly often (1 in 20 to 40 pattern changes result in out of sync drums). Makes this feature unusable in a club enviroment, which kind of defeats it’s purpouse.
Is Elektron working on a fix?

Don’t get me wrong, i love my AR, owned it for two years now, and think it’s about time bugs get squashed out.

Peace

I haven’t experienced it since the latest OS update and… (equally important) setting all my patterns to the same master Length. Infinite, in this case.

Yeah, my patterns do not have the same master length. Will try that! Thanks!

+1 on fixing this. It happens for me every so often when switching to a pattern of different length eg from a 16 beat pattern to a 32 beat one. Latest OS.

yeah, but to be fair, what are Elektron to do if you jump from towards the end of a sequence which is 28 long to one 24 long and so on ?!

And to be fair again, this bug is in the most manageable state it has ever been in.
I feel safe using Direct Jumo on stage after many gigs with the latest OS, after taking 10 min to make the master Len of all my patterns the same.

You can still run odd length patterns in Infinite Master Len mode, setting odd lengths in the individual tracks. (Advanced length mode)

which reminds me… of all the tiny workflow enhancements that can make all the difference, being able to Function ‘detent’ to infinity should be in there … the amount of times I’ve scrolled past to the small numbers is lost on me, with disastrous consequences :-1: edited

finesse touches like that are easy, not to mention that if you do utilise a short pattern, which I sometimes like (e.g. 4) the blinking record light will not blink … ie the blinking is lost in the paradigm of position and not time - so you mistakenly think it’s in step mode etc … reported to no avail : ( same dice with snapping to 32 on key track for A4 filter etc … it all adds up !
.
mostly the sequencing is joyously faultless though

I just tested this again a bit…direct jump seems to work consistently in ADV mode, with LEN set to INF. Great! So its in “normal” mode that the problem occurs.
Could direct jump not work in “normal” mode just the same as it does in ADV mode?
In ADV mode the pattern transports basically run independently, so if you have a simple 16 step loop it should stay in sync with an external synth playing a 16 step loop, even if you jump to a 7,37, or 999 step sequence and then back.
At the moment direct jump in “normal” mode works erratically and any 16 beat pattern goes out of sync with an external 16-step-loop fairly rapidly with pattern switching.

edited because it’s kinda possible already? I didn’t know either but I just tried on my A4 and it skips to multiples of 16, INF included. It was a glorious eureka moment.
Don’t have my Rytm hooked up but I imagine it to be the same?

^ indeed - it seemed to find Inf easier than I recalled (when scrolling back), but I am yet to be convinced this (and similar useful values) are easy enough to lock on to - even just snapping to musical delay values more quickly etc, the job’s been partially done, just a bit more finesse for quick editing
