I have DN MIDI track 3 controlling a synth on the iPad. I need another LFO for one of the parameters. I’ve tried to set my DT MIDI track to the channel that both the iPad is receiving on, and the channel on which the DN MT3 is receiving, but I can’t get the DT to control the DN MIDI knob. Is that not possible?
Did that work? If not, how are you connecting the DT to the iPad?
When you say “control the DN MIDI knob”, are you trying to use the DT to control:
- the LFO on the DN’s MIDI track
or - a CC command on the DN’s MIDI track?
It did not work. I have the iPad receiving on channel 7, but the DN MIDI track that is SENDING on 7 is receiving on channel 3 so that I can use DEST MUTES from the DT.
I should be more clear. I have a CC assigned on the DN to a parameter on the iPad synth. I want the DT to send LFO data to that CC. I’ve tried assigning the DT track to both channels 3 and 7, and a knob to the same CC as the one on the DN, but it has no effect.
I do have the DT also hooked up via USB to the iPad so the iPad can control pattern changes. I could have the DT control the synth directly, I was just hoping (esp. for future purposes) if there was a way to have a MIDI track on one device control the MIDI track parameters on another.
The DN’s MIDI track CC values are controlled by CCs 70 to 77 (manual, section B.7), not by the CC numbers that are being sent from the DN’s MIDI tracks.
Ah! Ok. The amount of times one needs to read the manual for these boxes is always n +1. Good lord. Thanks, Peter!
