Copy Kit + pattern at the same time

Hi everybody,

I have a show in two week and I would like to put my kits (with their pattern associated to each track) in order on their trigs to fit with my setlist.

Is there a way to copy at the same time the kit and the pattern on a new Bank pattern

Example : Move the kit and pattern (all 4 tracks) of A1 to let say B3 (all 4 tracks pattern)

Thanks,

copying a pattern is easy enough - normally you associate a kit with a pattern(linked when u save) - so why copy the kit too ? (unless you wish to change it) - the link to kit X will be preserved through the copy
.
Copy
Bank button / Trig (hold) / Copy (ie Rec)

Paste
New Bank button / Trig (hold) / Paste (ie play) (hold and wait)
.
conceptually you want something odd - if you need to duplicate kit you do it manually separately

Thanks,

I had it wrong

I got it !

ok have to drop this here, copy - paste pattern just doesn’t seem to work right now.

having a pattern on trk 1, copy pattern (function-rec)
selecting trk 2, paste pattern (function-stop) does not seem to work…
(grid recording mode is not active as stated in the manual)

anybody came across the same issue?

The pattern paste function takes a bit of time to complete, it is not instantaneous like when pasting other entities.
So, when pasting a pattern hold the buttons and you’ll see four boxes in the screen that represent the time it takes to paste. Wait for it

thanks for the reply!

perhaps im not following the right steps
should be: trk 1 activated-copy pattern, activate trk 2-paste pattern, correct?

when i keep holding in (function-paste) i see a weird flickering saying clear pattern/copy pattern very fast following eachother, so no four boxes on the screen for me unfortunately…

Your question is: “How to copy a TRACK to another one?”
You just need to be on rec mode “red light [on]” then function+copy and with the wanted track selected
A4/AK will show “track copied”
Then go to another track -always on rec mode- and press “function+paste”
Now your track will be copied to the 2nd

Remember: rec [ON] = your actions will take effect on the TRACK
rec [OFF] = it’s all about the entire PATTERN (4 tracks)

(lil’ tip: you can copy and paste PATTERNs on-the-fly by:
-Pressing a bank (A/B/C/D/…) then hold the trigger corresponding to the pattern you want to be copied and press [COPY (play?)] <==Without function
-Repeat the action with another PATTERN + [PASTE (stop)] (you just need to hold it a few seconds)

Now you can copy/paste PATTERN without stopping the sequencer or playing a blank pattern.)

read it…tried it…did it…succeeded it!!

Just to extend on this for the benefit of those who have yet to try … Copy/Paste without stopping or leaving the active pattern is possible w Bank:Trig:Copy Bank:Trig:Paste[hold] as reminded above … but it is also possible to copy any single pattern in the bank (not necessarily the one playing) to multiple patterns simultaneously (sadly, multiple selection of source patterns to copy is not possible, the way it is for multiple steps in grid edit mode)

Hey there,

in my previous post i was wondering about copying pattern+kit from one project to another.

It seem to work with copying the pattern but the kit isnt being copied, so the work around seem to copy track by track (sound by sound) which is tedious to go back and forth from one project to another. Does anyone have the same problem? Ideas?

Thanks

export the kit as a sysex dump and re-import is one way

or perhaps copy the containing project to the new one and trash what you don’t need (may be lots more work depending on project state)

Hey @avantronica that’s probably the best solution since there are no shortcut commands for it

Creating an empty project with a specific sound pool and have it as a base for future projects seem to be the way I’d go, for now.

Thank you

Thanks, I hope better options for Soundpool too !

Still not very convenient when you want to copy a kit with is associate pattern in an other complex project. I do it in two step, I copy the Pattern and then copy the kit returning from one project to an other. Is that wrong ? Must be an other solution to make it quick and easy without using the systhem dump ?
