Crazy Tube Circuits Splash MK4 vs Meris Mercury 7

Had a dreadbox nyx, really miss that reverb so thinking the splash can replace it. Don’t know much about the mercury 7.

Not looking for a specific reverb just something unique. Or will buy a used nyx and mercury 7?

Thanks!

just wondering if anyone had an opinion between these two pedals, want to grab one.

halp!

I own a Nyx and a Mercury7. The Splash (Mk2 I believe) is the reverb that’s in the Nyx (v1). First difference is one is mono and one is stereo (M7).

Sound-wise, I find both sound great. The M7 is more flexible of course because you have more controls (low cut, high cut alone makes it more flexi). Then you have the modulation (pitch shifting, shimmer, vibrato) on the M7. It’s a really great, lush, beautiful and massive sounding reverb, especially the cathedra algo is quite lovely and unique.

Personally I feel the Nyx is a fantastic synth and the reverb on it is lovely too (though mono), so to me it makes sense to own that and add a Mercury 7, but then that’s what I did, so I may be bias.

I did a similar thing, have a Nyx v1 and it sounds great on it’s own but better with another reverb on top, I use shimmer algorithm from Eventide Space quite a lot.
