Creating and organizing kits

Hi There,
I have just started using the A4 and worked my way through it so far, but now I have simple problem:

I want to start creating my own kits with the A4, but I cannot find any litrature or vid tutorial on the creation and management of kits. The manual is also pretty nebulous on this chapter, although the architecture itself is well described. I also want to be able to use existing kits or sounds in new project. Somehow it seems that no one else has that problem. What are my options? Do I have to import the sounds from my computer via some software? How can I save a created patch anyways? And how can I save my sounds on the +D drive and access them from new kits or projects.

I would be really grateful for your support.

You can copy paste kits between projects or you can use C6 (free software from Elektron) to dump different stuff (sounds, kits, kit+pattern, entire project) to your computer. I use this mainly for backup.

On the A4 I find saving sounds to the +Drive is the best way since it makes them available all the time in whatever project I’ve got loaded.

How to save to the +Drive is on page 22 and 23 in the manual.

As soon as you start editing sounds on tracks, you’ve made your own kit. So if you load some sounds from the pool into a track and tinker :

Then go

Funcition > Kit and it will bring up the kit menu. Choose ‘Save Kit’. You can see the full and empty slots where you save. Pick an empty slot and name your kit. Voila! That’s how you do it.

Sounds work similarly. Function > Sound then you can pick a spot. Like LarsErik said, you can use C6 to load sounds into the + Drive.
