Went with another try to inject the Digitone in my Jazz project but once again, it didn’t land where i wanted ( seems that the Microfreak is more project friendly on this one )
I kept on playing with the DN nonetheless… because it’s just too good.
So here’s some good old FM nonsense :
(There may be some “not so pleasant” frequencies here and there, just saying.)
A confession.
I really hate this thread.
All of you are shamelessly raising the bar higher and higher. Even those who claim to post their “failures” sound truly amazing to my ears. I feel unworthy and hesitate to post any further.
I bet everyone does You work on your own stuff but never realize how good it may be because you, more often than not, know that you could have done better. But most of the time it’s the core idea that is just good and other people don’t care about the details we worry about.
Two good chords and a few nice sounds, that’s all it takes sometimes.
Then we should get rid of that bar. For me this thread is all about experimenting by pushing what you have to the limits and sharing the result or the process. Otherwise I’d use another thread to share a finished track. Just post what you’re doing, it should be irrelevant if it sounds good, bad, dirty, beautiful…etc.
Made a nice little loop with the DT 1.50 firmware, the bass is from a 64 single cycle waveform sample chain I made from the Model D. The SCW file is incredibly small (52kb) and sounds incredible through the DT’s filter! 64 oscillators that can be pitched up or down and with different oscillators per-step if required. Also threw on a lot of Plugin Alliance (AMEK 9099 and SPL PQ, what a pair, plus the Shadow Hills MC Class A) and Fabfilter plugins (Pro-Q3, Pro-MB), and a couple of instances of Soothe 2 to hold up the beginning and the end of the chain. Gentle limiting from Pro-L2. A simple stereo mix for fun, no stems.
Don’t underestimate the potential of a “shitty” submission, it might be highly inspiring for someone else.
So keep on posting and experiment, you might have pleasure on the way…can’t pass on that.
Indeed, feels like you have to grind to level up.
