for a few years i only recorded to cassette, big mistake.
going through the box of tapes and thwacking all the dynamics out with max compression using dbx decoding on standard recordings.
so an old live sound currently overly processed. not sure what gear, maybe md and rytm.

TB-3 + Digitone slow ambient atmospheric groove thingy.
My Jam 9/52 project in it’s latest incarnation is out - Im challenging myself to do a JAM- short or sweet every week for a year using the Syntakt for at least something In this Video I’m
letting the Syntakt med the Boss of the new Ableton Drift (Free synth in 11.3). And control everything from the box.
more fun with my bass and guitar into the digitakt
Managed to find a fairly convincing “Mongolian Throat Singing” setting on the SubH tonight.
I recorded a load of stuff on Tascam machines with DBX betwen the late '80’s and late 80’s on a porta one and later a 488 and the DBX encoding crapped out on both machines, severely compromising all my precious work. I always felt that DBX was a very heavy-handed approach to noise reduction which tended to suck too much or the original nuances out of the recorded material. The Steely Dan, Katy Lied episode is an example of how the DBX system can break down making the original content pretty much irretrievebale. I’d take dolby over DBX any day.
Beautiful
One take from pulsar 23 and T1, a bit of compression and Drum Buss in Suite.

The Perfourmer tends be a bit of a one trick pony, but that trick is pretty spectacular!
rediscovered TM404 recently, also learning how to make glitchy idm’ish percussion, so bashed a quick test.
