CV/Gate keyboard?

Hi,

I am looking for a simple cv/gate keyboard. I don’t need much; I do dark ambient/drone so I don’t really need a keyboard, but it’s handy sometimes.
I guess the reference is the keystep (I don’t need the pro) but I’d like to know if there are others, with why not, more CV control.

Keystep 37 adds a few more keys and features over the original Keystep.

Novation SL MKIII has CV output as well but it’s likely in the same price range as the Keystep Pro.

Any specific “must have” features apart from CV output?

Edit: You could also look at a MIDI-to-CV converter like the CV.0CD. This way you could just use any keyboard with 5-PIN MIDI out.

See my edit above. This would open up a lot more options as you can select a keyboard with the action and feel that you’re looking for while giving you more CV outputs than any keyboard I’m aware of.

Look up the Akai Max 49. it’s got full size keys and a lot more features. it’s a bit more expensive than the keystep tho, if budget is your priority then a used keystep is probably the safest bet. be like Sean McBride and use two :stuck_out_tongue:

Indeed a lot a feature. But i dont need they…
just looking for a good keyboard with cv.

Keystep is pretty much the name of the game then. unless you wanted full size keys. in which case i guess maybe behringer MS-1? get the added benefit of an sh101 clone in your controller lol

Yes keystep look like the way to go… i dont really like the feeling of the keyboard, but no choise for a simple thing without a lot a feature useless for my use. I will look midi to cv module but i prefer to keep my hp for other module :grimacing:

I have a hermod in my rack. Perfect because I can plug in any usb controller and use it for writing in sequences and then I don’t need to bring the controllers with me live.
