… (until just now) - i’m newish to Elektron btw
that
1)
you can copy multiple trigs at once in grid mode
they don’t even need to be adjacent
copy ‘gaps’ are even preserved
the press order of your copy trigs is important
the first one pressed will determine the pattern at the paste trig (singular) location
this is handy !
2)
Function + (Osc1 or Osc2 or Filters or Amp or Env or LFO)
will bring up the (otherwise deeply buried) sound settings page for that sound
this is handy !
Anyone like to share any undocumented tips below …
[edit] - i’m acknowledging there’s a sandbox page for this stuff, but it’s handier here imo
Both are very importand shortcuts (at least for me).
I often visit the velocity modulation menu, which even with the fn-Sound shortcut is too far away for my taste.
nej, nej, nej
you misunderstand my point - the “Sound Settings” (drift, legato etc) page is ordinarily 5th down when you do Function+Sound, so far far far away !! everybody knows that there are two pages to most of the sound ‘parameter’ pages, you know, red led / green led !
now you have to give us an advanced shortcut tip
can you explain this one a bit more - key presses etc?
thanks[/quote]
press and hold the trigs you want to copy … press record(copy)
go where you like to paste the trigs… press the first trig-button where you want to paste and click Stop(paste)

fantastic - cheers! this will come in very handy :
If you hold trigs 2 4 5
Then press copy
Now hold trig 10
Then press paste
2 goes to 10
11 is unchanged
4 goes to 12
5 goes to 13
Helps with quick editing, shame no go w this on OT
Thanx alot !!! I love this forum by the way… Boucht my A4 about a year ago and i’ve been checking this site allmoast every day. It has been of much more use to me than the manual. So thanx to all u people for your help and opinions.
Sometimes when I paste the trigs - over existing ones - they behave strange and don’t end up where want them to. Maybe my mistace.
have track 1 active
track 2 muted
track 3 active
track 4 muted
now press play, listen to your lovely tunes …
press performance and let go
hit function and hold
in the trig row on the bottom slide your finger from trig 1 all the way to the right through trig 4, (observe display if you do this tutorial repeatedly)
now let go of the function key !
baaaam, in your face… switch from melody and lead sound to kick and hats in an instance …
this also works without press and hold the FN key. … you will figure out …
side note: cudos for avantronica trying to lecture dataline on the A4 handling … *g (just kidding )
Great thread and tips! Thanks everyone! Here’s a weird one…
Epoxy a “crank” onto an old knob with a compatible D-slot to get long and smooth manual filter sweeps. In my case I used 1/2 of a link left over from a new bike chain to create a tiny steampunk crank that’s small enough not to interfere with the other knobs.
Also, holding [Function] down while entering letters for patch names, etc. brings up a alpha/numeric display that’s exponentially faster than the standard method of entering characters. I saw this in a @seenfromspace video after struggling with the other method for weeks…
One that I bet gets glossed over is the quick way to select full quantise …
Instead of selecting real time record by pressing Rec Then Play
Press Rec(hold) and double tap Play to get quantise toggle
toggle with Play whilst holding Rec
