For example, I have a kick on track 1 and a snare on track 2. I record my guitar on track 3 and loop this one on this beat. then I change to the bank 2 in order to be able to record an another guitar part on the same track 3. But on the bank, I listen the guitar of bank 1.
But in my head, change Bank is meaning to have something empty in others banks.
I want to do this operation because I want to loop my guitar on track 3/BANK 1 to do a Verse and go to Bank2 to record a guitar chorus and loop both…Then return on Bank 1 with guitar verse and go to my bank 2 with my guitar chorus.
Someone understand what I’m saying ?
Thanks…
Thank you but it doesn’t want to work or I don’t understand the situation.
For example, I record guitar verse on track 1 on part 1 (Flex)
then I go to 2 part (I press Function+midi to choose 2 part).
I would like to record a new guitar on this track 1 (like a chorus) but my guitar of part 1 is still here but I don’t want it.
What I want to do clearly, it’s to record a verse on Bank 1 and save it, then I go to bank 2 (who supposed to be empty) and record my chorus and save it. Then I can switch between both, verse B1, chorus B2, verse B1, chorus B2, like a looper ( I have a jamman looper of digitech and I do this thing easly and I hope to do the same thing on this machine).
You record to Track Recorders 1-8. Not to Banks (banks are a way to arrange patterns and parts, but do not really hold samples) or Tracks (a track hosts a machine and some FX).
To play your recorded sample you assign it to a Flex machine, within a Part/Bank. The Flex machine can play the recorded buffer straight from Track Recorder 1-8 or from an assigned sample from on of the Flex sample slots.
Your recorded sample could be saved to the Audio pool and then assigned to a Flex (or a Static) slot.
To record different parts and then be able to play those interchangeably from the same track you need to switch what sample buffer is being played. And if you don’t wanna save you recording - you need to use different Track Recorders.
Record verse to TR1
Play verse by using a Flex Machine on Track 1 assigned to TR1
Record chorus to TR2
Play chorus by switching the Flex assignment to the TR2 buffer. You can do this manually or by parameter locking the sample slot. Or - by using Banks accessing different Flex slots or Recording buffers.
Have a look at how the instrument is structured. Have a good go at the manual. And realize that the Octa does not necessarily use the same terms or workflow as other loopers or samplers.
