Digitakt, Ableton and extra synths

Hi All,

I am trying to see if I can control midi channels a - h from ableton.
So my setup would be:
Ableton running, sending midi to digitakt. This let me control channels 1-8 perfectly. But I have some extra synths that are connected to my digitakt through midi and I control those through channel a-h, but for some reason I can’t seem to find how to set it up in such a way that ableton can send midinotes and have them control the external synths (through the digitakt).

Does anyone have any experience with this? Or is this just a fools errand?

Why don’t you just send the midi to the synths directly? If you’re sequencing the midi tracks in Ableton rather than on the Digitakt. Seems pointless.

Because I currently have no audio interface. So I am unable to.
But I just found the solution.

Since you’ve already got DT connected to the synths, could you just use the DT midi thru port?

I make it the other way around. Digitakt as Master and Abelton as Slave. I am using the Sequencer of DT and the Midi Channels controling vst plugins like Diva or Reaktor.
That makes fun.
