So I program a beat into my Takt. I set up midi sync to receive. I set up Cubase to Send to Digitakt. I press STOP on the TAKT so it isnt mid pattern. I hit PLAY on the DAW and the pattern STARTS on the TAKT. But nearly all the time it fails to play the first step of the first pattern play, but will play all steps as expected after the first round.
Did you hand record these patterns by any chance? Or were they just step sequenced through and through? When I record unquantized I usually have to microtime the first hits forward a little for them to play appropriately.
Well known, and discussed quite a bit on the forums. It also happens when slaved to another piece of hardware not just slaved to a daw. The bug as existed for a while, really it’s just waiting for the fix. There are a number of bugs on the machine that need to be squashed.
Hassle. So what I do is always have a blank pattern of 1 bar for when it is time to record. I also start the recording 1 bar extra in the DAW. I hit record and then switch the pattern and that solves it for now.
werkaround: for tracks with trigs on the first trig, nudge it one tick. it’ll play.
lame werkaround, but…it werks.
I tried count in, I tried midi delay…nothing werked. seems like the eleks have a little issue catching up on start. the nudge werks all the time for me. THO…I haven’t seen or had to employ that tech for some time. perhaps that has been addressed in the BETAs…I dunno.
