Currently, during these pre-overbridge times, the only way to get DT to DAW is to plug it into an interface and hit record! I’ve been USB MIDI syncing so playback is locked. Yeah, it can be a pain if you want separate stems…
However, Overbridge will be here soon enough, and it gives you time to learn the DT stand-alone. Can’t wait for 8 streaming tracks into my DAW!
Whatever that means in Elektron land these days. OS updates are slow and far between at the moment. The last update to Overbridge dates back to December 2016, so I wouldn’t hold my breath. I’m still a huge fanboi for this company and their products, but I feel they need to seriously step up their game with regards to releasing updates.
To be honest stemming out tracks in 2017 is a necessity especially for those that actually like to mix down their music.
Look at the MPC 1000 which came out 12 years ago, with 6 outputs. I love the digitakt but who has the time to track out 8 or more bars of individual audio & then fiddle around trying to sync them all up, what happens for those sounds that don’t start on the 1? I’m moving air around. Kinda defeats the purpose of going out the box.
For the time being digitakt is nice, but it can’t be used as a professional tool until we can track out our audio, until then its a nice little sketch pad, heck even my OP1 lets me export stems.
