Digitone cyperpunk

Yeh I been playing around with things like that, not so much with the DN but sampling the 32’s or vocal snippets off YouTube. Straight into the DT very fast lfo panning, resampling then lfo on the pitch and reverse it it’s crazy the sounds it can make. The OT’s on a whole other level I’m still getting my head around it. With the DN I want cleaner tones for now, once I understand how to do that i’ll start messing with more advanced sound design.
Man skinny puppy rule, I’d like to hear what u came up with

Yeh, those records were my textbooks. But all those diskettes I made [and the Mirage] are long gone; like my hair :expressionless:

hi there… I am also a cyberpunk enthusiast!

If you do not mind letting go the traditional/retro for a more modern vision of the cyberpunk(s) universe(s), you should try to give a listen to some Access to Arasaka’s releases such as : Oppidan, Void, Geosynchron etc…Worth a listen.

I like that very experimental and it still gives off that vibe

In addition to what other folks have said (post-punk, electro, experimental) Gibson liked to talk about Dub music in the early books… thats one consideration

fuck yeah Ken Ishii is amazing!

I’ve made quite a few cyberpunk-esque patches on my DN.
I listen to a lot of stuff in the vein of Mike Cadoo, DJ? Acucrack, Kill Memory Crash. Mike Cadoo’s work, Gridlock or Dryft, is especially driven by FM synthesis. (i would check it out if you havent yet heard it)
I can’t really say how i made these sounds simply because they’re all just from experimentation and a lot of “that sounds like crap”. All of them are fairly “razor sharp” from leads, to the pads. a lot of mid frequency buzz for sure. if you want i can take a look at my DN later and try to find what achieved what??

Yeh I’m getting the hang of it now just took some digging and experimentation. I started looking at the DN as it really is, FM/subtractive, and it started making more sense. Still not sure how I get there half the time but I’m making sounds that I’m enjoying now. Neon nights from here on out

this is pretty “cuberpunk” to me and synth wavey. Also he uses some Elektron gear and mother 32. Has been a good inspiration for me anyways.

but to answer your question, yes you have all the gear already now make the music!

Just discovered “Scandroid” might fit the bill pretty nicely !

You should think about Nyx

Yes, a few of the patches on the Digitone are actually named after cyberpunk/EBM songs and bands.

Yeh the Nyx looks mad I love the sound
