I’ve just had my f yeah moment - I was Exclusively using the step sequencer for laying down synth lines and it was boring, robotic I just suck. Turn the grid off and micro timing on and lean against the grid. For the OT when Im playing drums no probs otherwise grid off. Drums in my daw are the only programmed thing. The rest is played in.
Im not sure If anyone else has found this?
I did this too for a while but then turned the quantise on again because im often pleasantly surprised when im messing up stuff and then hear what quantise did with my played in stuff.
Also i got annoyed at the micotimings after listening to the pattern again and again. Maybe its my brain, maybe I’ll turn it on sometime again. Perhaps try it for just one track, for instance.
Maybe it could be enough to at least program some velocity variation, I should do that more often, but that can’t be recorded with the little keyboard i think.
