Is it just me or does this machine make my syntakt sound like shit in comparison?
Just you. Syntakt sounds good to me.
Ultra Kick
I think voice 3 kicks are a bit tighter less pitchy/zappy from the Loopop video.
There’s a kick in there for just about everyone.
The first 3 voices all have various different kick algorithms, and they cover a lot of ground.
Just recorded a full hour improvisation for a podcast with the new setup (syntakt, perkons, ventris, lemondrop). Here’s a small part.
Playing live like this feels really liberating. (edit forgot to normalize thwe audio hehe)
I can definatelu pick out perkons on core drum duty, what roles are the others playing?
Which drum machine’s kick do you like for reference?
Love this… love the wonky feel, Im a sucker for those type of beats…
Yeah, the shuffle and groove settings are really good.
I was a bit worried about not being able to micro time individual steps, but there’s enough variety in the settings it has to make things pretty wonky.
GASing hard
I agree for the grooves, really cool stuff there.
I find myself using the Mod section to add to the rhythm too, rather than for sound design as I would on Rytm or OT.
Playing with the Mod Level on the cut off or level of a voice can add so much life to it, like a drummer playing ghost notes.
Yeah, I like just having an unquantized sample and hold on a couple of parameters, just subtle, but enough to create a bit of swing or extra movement here and there.
Syntakt is doing a hihat and clap. Rest is pure perkons. Picked this small bit for that reason
Yeah same here. Especially the lightning bolt waveform is great
sounds top, i would dance !
“Grandpa, what was it like when the Perkons was released?”
“Well, each day we’d gather 'round the Elektronauts thread and listen to the latest sound clips from Fin and Dave. They came up with all kinds of crazy shit!”
Maybe fin and I should do a double P set together via the webs
