can I tell my midi keyboard yamaha psr 600 … to do the record play live record thing, when I want to live rec with my a4 (off course also with the MM )
in my head it would be so elegant to be on your midi keyboard, then jam, come up with some nice notes that you want to record in real time, without hitting the A4, but remain on the midi keyboard …
it is possible with Cubase. You could find it in the transport menu, an item called ‘backward recording’ (sorry, maybe it isn’t the right translation from the german version). In the settings menu you can choose the amount of notes you wanted to be recorded (in the background) every time you are jamming on a dadicated midi track.
that’s nearly the same as my problem - starting the sequencer by key (from a midi keyboard, transposing the pattern up from the incoming note) or even a cc- or nrpn-command. I haven’t found such commands yet.
But - mayb the multi map option is your solution (p. 48, manual).
