No worries. R8’s are pretty cheap still and well worth picking one up. I have a battered Mk1 and the two cards, electronic and dance, which come pretty much entirely in the Mk2 and believe its minimal difference in sound quality between the two. The cards and power supplies are a bit £££ tho

Jim Keltners snare drum, or Matt Chamberlains snare drum.
I like deep, low tuned, fat snares with very crisp definition.
