First serially produced Analog Keys #1 goes to charity

On Wednesday 11th of December the Analog Keys was seen for the first time in a live charity performance, arranged by Musikhjälpen, on Swedish national TV. Swedish pop act [url=“http://www.svt.se/wd?widgetId=23991&sectionId=3252&articleId=1665980&type=embed&contextSectionId=3252&position=219”]Wintergatan used it elegantly in their song Starmachine2000.

There’s more. That particular Analog Keys is the first one ever produced, bearing serial number #1, and is currently up for auction. The money raised will be used to help pregnant women all over the world to survive their pregnancy.

The winner of the auction will also get flight tickets from Gothenburg to Frankfurt to attend the world’s largest music fair - Musikmesse Frankfurt - between 13 and 15 March, where Elektron will showcase their innovations. Furthermore, two nights at a comfortable hotel and an evening with the Elektron team including geek talk in the wee hours are part of the package!

Here’s the auction. English text at the bottom of the page. The auction ends Dec 15.

If you are a non-Swede and want to bid, please go to the Tradera international site to sign up.

Super cool performance and what a freaky DIY synth that guy was playing.
Never saw one of those before

It seems to be a few Eurorack modules with a ribbon controller stuck to it. Dunno what the black unit at the back is though. Anyone have any idea about this thing.

:+1: let’s applaud Elektron on a fantastic gesture for a great cause

@smais, thanks for the info.

It’s a control box for Doepfer’s ribbon. http://www.doepfer.de/R2M.htm

^ thanks. All makes sense now.

Nice!

edit: the angle used in the auction photo made me realise just how well-designed the Keys is.

For all trainspotters - here you have closer look http://konstpretton.se/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Wintergatan-004-1024x678.jpg

Elektron, I need to find a hat so I can take it off to you.

yeah, pretty freaky Eurorack/Doepfer setup… I’ve never seen a modular played by hand, a la violin before.

Nicely done, Elektron

Great choice of charity. AK looks stunning in the photo on the bid webpage.

However I’m refusing to buy anything, not even groceries, until I know what the new box is.

Any clues? Even a tiny one, just to keep us going for the weekend?

Enjoyed that Wintergatan performance! :+1: :+1:

Good on Elektron. Win-win.

Very nice initiative. Being customer of a company witch seems to integrate hummanity concept in their selling is pleasant. Did you too, attribute part of annual benefit to philantropic associations ?

Hats off to Elektron for being awesome and donating the AK + trip to charity.

See you in march then :stuck_out_tongue:
