Is it time to sell my machinedrum?? 
Possibly a MIDI Sequencer with many capabilities (maybe mixer, maybe some effects, maybe some cv/gate, a bit like Cirklon or Deluge or Polyend Medusa competitor etc.) like a hub for all your “Machines”. If that’s the case, there has to be a way for song mode etc. to extend the capabilities of the “machines” it connects to.
