I think so, yes. Overlap between patterns to smooth the transitions but enough different to bring up new elements once the different tracks are unmuted. (Edit: he’s clearly not programming steps on the fly.)

You deserve a prize for summing up the ‘I want one box that does everything’ desire we all feel. Sadly even with Ableton Live I still feel the desire got every groovebox. It’s a curse.

So I just picked up a korg emx1. My first time with this box and I have to say it’s the best workflow I’ve ever had in a Groovebox. It’s so fast and fun to use. Sounds great, especially when you crank the tubes. I’m in love. So much in love that I’m now looking for a second emx that isn’t quite so beat up.
