I’m trying to figure out how to make channel 1 (default kick channel) trigger a midi channel as well so that I can have it activate a gate to trigger a side-chain on my modular set up so whatever the kick pattern is it will be triggering a midi out channel as well. I don’t want to have to set up two channels every time. Is there a way to do this or can I only have a midi channel trigger the kick and have a midi out?
Tried my best to search for this topic to no avail
With int+ext if will send the midi data when you press the trig keys and turn the encoders. It will not send midi data from the audio tracks sequencer. This may be why the functionality seems buggy to you but likely it is working as intended.
It works exactly as intended for a while and then doesn’t work at all which to me doesn’t make sense. If I was doing something wrong it should be wrong from the start, right?. thanks for your reply though.
Edit: To clarify I am definitely sending midi info out of the digitakt via the audio tracks/sequencer
Ok, sorry, you’re right, that’s incredibly stupid on Elektron’s part. I can’t see what benifit that would have.
Can I have a Midi channel trigger internal and external channels at the same time? The whole idea is that when I change a kick drum pattern during a live performance I don’t have to copy/paste onto another channel and it can be immediate.
