I found that comment Eno made in the documentary about how (paraphrasing) music hasn’t progressed since whatever Scott Walker album they were listening to and that everyone is trying to sound like Roxy Music and the Talking Heads rather irksome in hindsight. I mean… it was what 2005? I could see if that comment was made in 1988 or something not to mention he’s referencing things he worked on, but who the hell was stuck on those two bands as a major point of reference at that time? Not at all disputing his legacy but he made plenty of forgettable albums yet pretty consistently makes these comments about redundancy in contemporary music.
Another thing- does Fat Mama Kick sound Scott Walker was sort of cheekily borrowing the jaunty vide from Steely Dan’s Reelin’ In The Years?
