Heat Overbridge is Great

Heat works perfectly for me. On one hand I have it plugged into my dawless hardware setup. On the other hand, all I have to do to route it to my computer is turn on the unit and open overbridge. This is something you can do on for example, the Virus TI. But the fact you get access to an analog signal processor routed like a VST is as far as I know, not something you can’t do with anything else. By extension, I wish all effects did this, for example, like Strymon Pedals.

With my pedals I have to go to my hardware setup and unwire the pedals, grab new cables and route from my audio interface. It’s not a lot of work, but with overbridge it makes processing sound using Heat incredibly easy. I can even overbridge my Analog Keys and route that output through overbridge heat. This is a strong design win and a good reason to buy a Heat. Specifically if you want a hybrid production/hardware setup.

Have you encountered any freezes using AH with OB before the last Firmware (1.21)?

Yes, I have, from time to time it loses the connection with the unit and a restart is necessary. I have issues with my DN as well. I will update to the new firmware tomorrow, but will stick with .47 version of overbridge. I use Ableton.

Good to know I’m not the only one but with the new FW and this bug fix (Modulating multiple parameters over MIDI CC or Overbridge could sometimes cause the UI to stop responding), I hope this will belong to the past. I will install the new FW tonight and report if the issue is still there.

It was the only issue that I had regarding OB. All my other devices (AR MkII, A4 MkII, DT and DN) were flawless.
