How do you roll off the high end on your A4 sounds?

I’m trying to eliminate some of the ear piercing high end on some of my patches. Since there isn’t any sort of EQ on the A4, what are you guys doing to combat this? I don’t want to use any external gear.

Thx!

I’m hitting the first of the two filters with the cutoff
or overdrive, and then adjust with the resonance if necessary. Usually works quite well.

Just in case, is your sound dry or with some FX ? Chorus with max feedback can rise high freqs, that you can tame with FX onboard filter.

as @andreasroman said : Filters (the two of us can help depend what’s in use in the Patches)
Also : Reduce Resonance on the Filters
Make the Envelopes more smooth
Check LFO, if it’s assigned on Resonance, Reduce the range of it.
As @LyingDalai suggest check FX sections
Check AM, FM, Sync of the OSC… it can bring some metallic frequencies but it can be a sound design choice… if you din’t like it try to reduce it…
Check Unison
Check if there’s is some sort of Feedback on OSC1
Neighbor on TRK2 from TRK1 …

If nothing help try to see if you can work on the opposite by bringing more Bass…
or slight touch of a little bit of everything

Good point to boost the lower mids and bass instead of attenuating higher freqs! Peace

So I tried adjusting the filters and resonance, but it altered the character of the sound too much. I’ll try some of these other tips.

Thx for the tips.

it’s not usually that easy to get the exact sound you want from the gear… Unfortunately, that’s why a full project is usually mix and why a lot of people choose an external mixer for Live Performance.

With the EQ Bell inverted techniques to remove nasty frequencies. And my favorites are Brainworx bx_digital and a De-Esser for that kind of things …

But you should get better with the tips people gives you here
