How to capture sample of specific length?

I’ve set RLEN to 64 and set a one shot trig on TRIG 1. The sample is recorded, but immediately is cleared once the 64 step pattern on the OT starts again.

I want to have the sample saved at the length specified in RLEN.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

I’d need some more info to think along.

  • What are the other settings in the recording menu?
  • Have you put a trig in the sequencer of the track that you want to play the recording from?
  • I’m assuming you’re using the same track for recording buffer and playing it back? Do you see the two different triangle arrows in the AED recorder menu, the one that shows the recording happening and the other for playback?
  • How do you know for sure that the sample is “cleared”? (as opposed to just not playing back?)
  • Did you check scenes?

Yes, I put a trig on TRIG 1. The recording buffer is cleared and a new recording is started when the 64 step sequence is repeated and a new recording is started. I’m wondering how I can get the recording to not be cleared and restarted?

I let it play through once and hit the trig on TRIG 1, next time it comes round it starts to record and then just take the trig off before the 64 steps are off. I believe this stops the recording at your desired step length.

Thought I tried this. Will give it another go.

Don’t know if I explained it well (I never do) but I used this guys tutorial and it seemed to work.

By your description you are not setting a one shot recorder trig, but a regular recorder trig. That’s why it starts recording each time around.

From the manual:

One shot recorder trigs are entered by pressing [FUNC] + [TRIG] and are indicated by yellow [TRIG] keys.

Thanks to all. Working with this more, I had success using a combination of your suggestions.
