The Explorer is a battery powered 37 key polyphonic-aftertouch keyboard portable !
ADDED: There is also a six octave extended keyboard version called the Hydrasynth Deluxe.

Damn, no sampler inside … would love a new MICROsampler on batteries!
Haha I’ve talked at length with @Jukka about how I hoped ASM’s next product would be a keyboard sampler.
I -am- curious about a minikey poly AT keybed, just because that sounds… strange.
Who knows if this is ASM’s only announcement.
So the mid sized keys, no ribbon, a trimmed down master control section, though i bet you can get to the same eight controls, just four at a time instead of eight.
The LED rings on the Master Controls look to be gone.
The mod-wheels have been replaced with two slider pads.
Things internally look to be similar. I just learned about this so I’m finding out about this too.
I can see that if you know the HSK, you’ll be able to pick up the Explorer with little new to learn.
It still has the CV interface ! I could see this as part of a modular, if it is inexpensive enough.
ADDED: The CV interface is the output only portion, it does not have Mod1, Mod2 inputs. Too bad those allow audio rate input on the others.
Pretty boring and disappointing release, IMO. We already have a module with pads.
Would require a bit more menu diving due to less encoders. Curious about the price though.
Chord mode!
I’d be more likely to add this to go above my HSK than the module with pads.
This feels like a gateway drug for polyphonic aftertouch.
I can agree if this is all.
This though would be a good alternative to the HSD, particularly if this is as i expect, less expensive.
Ca. 600€ in the russian shop that leaked it.
Dimensions:
Height: 2.28" / 5.8cm
Width 21.81" / 55.4cm
Depth: 9.72" / 24.7cm
Weight: 7.63 lbs / 3.46kg
“37 mid sized keys”, ah good. So Monoloyue sized. Better than mini.
Not much bigger than the desktop then. Great!
This explains the fairly recent price drop of the desktop version…
But no step sequencer…
No price drop on the HSD that i’ve seen in the US.
Is there one in Europe ?
Not sure about the name, though. It reminds me of a doubtful Browser.
I wondered some about the name too.
Perhaps it’s meant for first time ASM buyers as an introduction ? Not sure. It’s a pretty old sort of thing
HSE ?
Or HSX.
