A4 can send 24 notes simultaneously, I have 10 fingers.
“The MPK mini Play has 32 voices of polyphony”
It’s not just a MIDI controller it also has internal samples.
I’ve used the filters of track1 and track2 of the A4 for Rings and I’m gonna check what can be done with the DFAM VCOs CV straight into the A4 inputs into t1/t2 tracks filter/fx, should be fun!
I watched some DN videos and I don’t think the sound is for me. The A4 seems far more gritty.
Sounds very interesting, the RK002. What are the possiblities with it on a A4?
With synth page 2 settings and overdrive on each track and on the master track, it can be glitchy, harsh, industrial, gritty, clean, soft but indeed it might be “clean” by default (it all starts with a clean nice sine wave after all). As I said it’s a different flavor that compliments the A4 well (for my taste) but if you don’t like that flavor…
A4 all the way ; )
I actually think an A4 paired with a TR-6S might be a good combo, to add 6 drum/sample tracks
On 2 A4s, with an existing script you can dispatch each note to a different channel, hence play 8 voices (1 per channel).
You can edit and create your scripts, any incoming midi message can be mapped to any other one, with conditions if needed. Many possibilities, depends on your needs, imagination, which A4 limitations bother you…there are other midi processors really capable…
Examples for one A4 :
Possible to play 4x2 paraphonic voices (mapping notes to oscs pitch), map pitchbend to osc pitch and be able to record it, map modwheel to lfo depth and be able to record it, map keytrack to several parameters…
