Not with C6 though. As with most people I find this program too slow and not stable. Sure there will a few fanboys who think this way is fine but it’s absurd. When Rytm was released from day one we should have been able to transfer in a newer and faster way. You know and I know it. Also now that overbridge has been finally released maybe Elektron can make real synth engines as I find the ones now lacking in so many areas. I’m wondering can you record retrigs live yet? This is one of the main reasons I sold mine really. This was a feature most sampler/ drummachines had in the 90s. I’m really surprised Elektron dropped the ball on this… I know many people who are selling their Rytm because of this one small detail. Almost 2 years after release and this is still an unfinished product., but it’s ok cause now we have Overbridge… Right.
Still angry and bitter, I see. Why would you even entertain the thought of buying one again when you clearly hate elektron and their products? Just to be miserable? Or is this just your deal and the relationship you have with all your gear?
Ranting is ok.
How would you replace it?
I personally love the AR but maybe others in the same situation as you could use suggestions.
Maschine? Tanzbar? Tr8?
I’m not angry or bitter I just want it done right before I spend 1500 dollars. It’s unfinished but the majority of users are ok with that.
Not Maschine as I’m not really using computers much these days. Tempest was meh. Rytm
could be the perfect machine is they spent sometime with updates but Overbridge most likely took up a lot of their resources. I just read that they are getting rid of C6 which is a huge bonus at least for me. That program was a joke. I’d like to see how they evolve Rytm though. I think for techno it’s probably ok but for more thought out, complex music it needs some love. I think having an iPad is really all you need to make techno as there are some nice apps for doodling around.
No offense but AFX saying that AR is his current favorite drum machine tells me that it is possible to do VERY complex music. Besides mixing analog and samples with the plock and everything… pretty wild. Sure there are limitations, all gears have and no other machine seems to be able to replace your AR.
Rytm isn’t perfect, and no instrument is, really. We all have different needs and wants, well, mostly wants, but no instrument can be even close to perfect for every musician.
I wish Rytm had more LFOs, and more synthesis machines. But, I’d be afraid of throwing the baby out with the bath water, so to speak, if I let it go based on those limitations.
And I was close to letting it go because of those limitations at one point. Once I looked at Rytm from another perspective, by focusing on what it can do and ignoring what it cannot, I found my peace with it.
Sure, C6 isn’t fun, but it’s 1% of the Rytm experience for me.
Tempest meh…? Rytm not perfect…?
Those are two of the best machines out there mate… Or ever for that matter !
Sounds like u are more concerned about complaining then being creative.
But whats wrong with making it so you plug the usb cable in and load samples on like a separate drive? FFS its 2015 and the Octatrack can do it so why cant the AR? Really… shouldnt it be simple?
THIS.
THIS. [/quote]
Yup.
While I’m pretty annoyed at certain things, there is no other machine which comes close.
I gotta say after hearing Virtual Pajamas sound pack I’m a little curious again. There are some nice sounds in there. I wonder if it’s all samples?
Pajamas??
Audio examples and video soundtrack is analog + samples. Well- that is how the samples should be used in the Rytm, layering them up with analog voices.

can be used
^^I knew this was gonna happen…
Lol sorry I meant virtual flannel.
I say at least give it until the Rytm’s next major update before deciding to throw in the towel. Cenk has hinted that new machines are coming, and I’m sure the bugs will be fixed. Elektron also want to replace C6 with a better solution (presumably using Overbridge in some way).
So now Overbridge is out, hopefully they can divert more resources into developing the Rytm’s OS. I would be surprised if there is no major update by the end of the year. What do you think, Cenk?
R u a noob?
I’m a knob.
I get it.
Once I heard what Nicholas Lem could do with a Monomachine, it dawned on me that there was nothing wrong with the MM at all. I just had to improve my own skills to make the instrument sing.
My Lem is your Virtual Flannel.
Whatever it takes to show you the light.
