Hasn’t bothered me, I’d heard horror stories from 20 years ago, a lot has changed since then. Had no problem reauthenticating plugins after a hard drive crash and a subsequent upgrade to another system.
On the other hand I only use about 10 plugins that require it, never seen the point of having hundreds, even back of the days of crackz with access to “everything” never used more than a handful of 5 or 6, I’ve found both better sounding ones since then and now have the expendable budget to support top of the line code, it just works.
