Introducing Syntakt

I think Syntakt is the perfect machine if you miss various Elektrons you used to have and just want 1 box to replace them with.

Second LFO and a Base Width Filter, it’s all I’m asking. Basically, a Modulation tool and a Mixing tool.

Honestly had one and sold it. it was really hard to gel with because it didn’t have some of the features as some of the modern elektrons. Microtiming is a huge one for me. I like to make stuff off the grid and didn’t really like sequencing it with my ot.

I don’t see why they would give the rytm the likes of digital machines? What’s the point of releasing syntakt if you just throw the whole thing into a device that already exists

Any examples of harder or more aggressive stuff with the syntakt yet?

Thanks for doing these live streams, they’re way more useful than the standard demos.

I spend the whole afternoon and evening on the syntakt and although it’s a bit early to tell, I think it’s a great instrument and I’m 99% sure I’m going to keep it. In comparison to the DT, it’s a better and more flexible drum machine imho, due to things like the possibility to set up velocity modulations (or pb, mw, at and bc) and the four modifiers. In comparison to the DN, it’s a much more restricted synth, but it can still offer quite a wide range of sounds due to the variety of melodic engines.
So far, I’m most impressed by the sound of the analog kicks and snares, they sound just like a drum machine should sound, weighty and punchy. The bits synth is also an instant favorite, can’t wait to play around with it some more tomorrow.

Edit: a question to other users that already have their syntakts: are all the preset banks also empty on your devices? The only presets on my syntakt are in the sound pool of the demo project, but my +drive seems to be completely empty (which I don’t mind at all, as I would have wiped them anyway, but I’m curious if it really ships with empty present banks).

I bought the Rytm for what it was/is so I am happy with it, it is the best drum machine around.

But it still would be great to have a few updates, especially for me the dimming of the LEDs as well as a finer sample editing capability. Like on the DT

The ST sounds amazing and has a wider timbral range and control than the M:C. Demos give a glimpse of what’s possible. I wanted to move up to a more advanced version of the M:C and the Syntakt is just that.

Says private video, kicked me off (I’m sure you’re aware of this, just alerting others).

Yeah, that’s why I like it, less safe and shows of a wider range of what the syntakt can do. I caught a bit of the one you did saturday as well, thanks again.

I plan to do another stream same time on Wednesday… covering dub chord options with Syntakt

Thanks for the heads up on that. (Chat is gone for me but the sounds are the most important thing.)

Any chance of recording it and leaving it up on YouTube for a day or two? Drums and dub chords are my main uses for the syntakt and I’d love to see it in action.
