I’m always nervous about upgrading. I’m more asking for a new Ipad Pro I got my iphone is pretty crappy. Any issues? Do you like it?
I haven’t upgraded yet due to a security issue that has not yet been resolved. I suggest you do some reading and keep up on development. When the patch is released, I’m sure it will be all over the web.
Fucked up my ability to load a whole folder of samples in beatmaker so now ive got to upload them one by one due to the new files app, posted on the beatmaker website and got no response at all. Probably get fixed but for now im loading samples one at a time which is a bit of a pisstake. Ios11 looks nice though and the dock thing is useful
It has made an absolute mess of my battery life. The only reason I upgraded was to get the Files but, last I checked, it was pitiful.
I’m curious about iOS 11 performance on an original IPad Air in general if anyone’s running it? I’m still on 8…
And more specifically curious about:
-Did you do over the air software update?
-Has anyone done a clean install? Erase all contents and settings, restore with freshly downloaded firmware from iTunes, set up as new device, reinstall apps manually, not from backup.
Not only is a clean install a good way to know there’s no lingering data from previous os’s or apps that could decrease performance, but a new file system was introduced in 10.something, the clean install method could prove useful for best performance by starting fresh with the new file system format…
Any info appreciated…
It’s working great for me on iPad 3, iPad Air 2, and iPhone 6s. All apps are fine and battery is good. I limit notifications, etc.
I updated everything in the house - then a week or so later decided to just wipe my phone (7+) and start over redownloading everything. Wiping my phone saw a dramatic increase in snappiness and response. Same with my iPad Pro. Battery life on the phone is an issue but not the end of the world.
Are you able to update the iPad air to iOS11? Some older stuff got left behind a few releases ago. I would advise to do a wipe and reinstall if you’re thinking about it (if the iPad can update of course). Best to go with a clean slate for older devices imho.
