Just you and an almost empty room

either
The Sisters Of Mercy — Floodland (1987)
or
Cassandra Complex — Theomania (1988).

i would toss a coin to decide.

Wild Light by 65daysofstatic.

This album takes me to space and back every time.

First, second, third, and fourth choicees already got picked so I would go with this.

Current circumstances and surroundings would dictate a bottle each of Sazerac and Peychaud’s bitters etc and the inimitable Dr John.

There are so many albums to choose from, but I think I’d have to go with either

Darkside - Psychic

or

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Polygondwanaland

Both of them are exceptional and perfect for creating vibe.

I used to serve beers in a student associative bar, from 10pm, when I was 20.
One of my pleasures was to opening at 9, sitting on a chair between the two big speakers, lighting one and religiously listen to something like the last Portishead.

Blessed times.

Ah! working off the one word “solace”, the first thing that came to my mind was “Spirit of Eden” :

I ended up going with the Skatalites based on the rest of the OP description…

The original liquid funk…

Not very electronic, but it just has to be this slice of perfection:
