Thought this might be a fun topic for all the Gadgeteers out there.
What are your favorite Gadgets, and optionally, why? Limit to 3, but can be less.
For me, in no particular order:
Chiang Mai - I’m a sucker for those bells, plucks, and woody plonks. FM-ish but not quite.
Wolfsburg - Seems to be the best “all around” synth. VA with 2x LFOs and mod matrix. I like to think of it as a mini Virus (one can dream…) - Note that I cannot run iMono/Poly on my iPad so it’s possible that would be my pick over Wolfsburg, but I may never know!
Miltipas (Wavestation) - cuz RANDOM, can press that all day long.
Milpitas, combined with the iWavestation app for custom patch building
Zürich (essential for adding external audio like elektrons to projects)
Bilbao (adding external drum samps and oneshots)
Tbh I rarely use someof the gadgets, most of the original ones I never use.
fwiw here’s a screenshot of my gadget list, IIRC the app lists them sorted according to frequency of use. These are actually just about all the gadgets I use… PS Recife is on the list only because of 1-4 drum sounds I keep going back to… Should track them out to my sample collection…
All in all, I really find myself loving wavestation more and more… Its one helluva synth and Korg would do well to bring it back as new hardware at some point!
