I saw Alan Oldham would play monday afternoon, perfect techno time for me, just i was never in berlin…
What synth might be used at 1:40?
I like making simple softer sounding chord plocking attempts in a4. On dn its harsher, the stepping while live-plocking can be interesting, but of course just fan-attempts lacking the groove.

My guess, and it’s just a guess, but knowing what the typical gear was for styles like this, I would think a Roland polysynth of some kind. I’m sure it could be done on most poly analog or VAs, but that filter has a kind of Roland-y cascaded four pole sound I think. It’s also really snappy on the envelopes when it’s not sweeping which also sounds Roland-ish.

In fact, it sounds like there’s a triangle wave sweeping the cutoff, and a fast attack envelope on the sound in general. Could be a Juno.

Thanks a lot, top knowledge. Might try one day i‘m not lazy as usual midi connecting my ( old version, no chrd mode buaa) ju06 or bitwig to arturia. One can‘t complain about not enough envelopes in bw 5.

Ahh yes I love this set! Beautiful sounds and visuals. Wata has such a great unique sound

Similar sounds are also quite typically what can come out of the Eowave Quadrantid Swarm.

I’ve never been much of a “hardstyle” sort of guy. If I listen to faster stuff Ive always preferred the banging techno ala Soma, Len Faki, Dax J, Billy Nasty, buutttttt this mix is DOPE!
